How It Started
Backland General Co. began with two friends, Georgio comes from advanced data analytics, where his work was all about patterns and proof. That same mindset drove him to dig into what we put on our bodies and uncover the hard truth, most products aren’t designed for health, they’re designed for shelf life. Kyle, with a background in real estate, brings a builder’s perspective, focused on foundations, longevity, and creating things that actually last. Together, we realized that if we wanted products rooted in honesty and built to support real health, we’d have to make them ourselves and that’s how Backland was born.
What We Saw
The more we paid attention, the clearer it became: store shelves are stacked with products that read like a chemistry set, seed oils, parabens, aluminum compounds, synthetic fragrances, petroleum byproducts. Cheap fillers dressed up as “care.” And while this problem is everywhere, it’s especially obvious in products marketed to men.
